Predicting Congestion
When congestion is detected unexpectedly, it is also necessary to understand the cause so that it can be mitigated. Causes can vary from double parked vehicles and debris that may have fallen off trucks to accidents. Often these causes are obscured for periods of time by other passing vehicles.
Road Infrastructure can also get damaged or be faulty. Signs and railings may be damaged by vehicles colliding with them. Traffic Lights may malfunction.
iOmniscient can detect the various incidents that result in congestion even when the incident itself is obscured for up to 50% of the time. It can then use this information to predict potential congestion.
Alerting the traffic authorities as soon as the incident occurs can help emergency services to clear up the cause and in many instances avoid the congestion from eventuating.
Autonomous Response
When an incident occurs it is pointless to send the alert to a control room and expect a human to receive the alert and respond to it in a timely manner. Studies show that a human watching just two monitors will miss half the action after 10 minutes and see virtually nothing after 22 minutes.
iOmniscient’s Autonomous response system, ASAP, will understand the event and find the nearest appropriate responder and tell them where to go and what to do.
In projects around the world the ASAP system has reduced Emergency Response times by 80% — contributing significantly to congestion reduction.
Law Enforcement
Roads are safe to use when road users obey the laws that have been enacted to keep them safe.
The iOmniscient system provides multiple applications to help enforce the law. These include:

License Plate Recognition/ Make & Model Recognition
iOmniscient’s License Plate Recognition system is officially rated as having an accuracy of 99.5%. However, during two recent three month trials for 2 different Police Agencies, the system delivered 100% accuracy at speeds of over 200 kph.
The system can read plates from 130 countries even when the plates are in languages such as Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai or Arabic and can read odd shaped plates (including triangular ones) and read details of the state or district that issued the plates.
It carries the Dubai Police (SIRA) Certification.
The system is complemented with an accurate Make and Model Recognition system.
